Recycled Cardboard Finger Puppets

Recycled cardboard finger puppets are super easy and fun to make. This is a great craft project that uses recycled materials so chances are you have everything you need to make your own cardboard finger puppets already at home! So have a hunt through your pantry to find a suitable box and get crafting.

My four-year-old loves crafts to the point that she would do crafts over any other activity. Because of her craft love, it was a no-brainer this afternoon to do some crafting during her sister’s nap time. We had an old tissue box and a nutbar box so we decided to make some cardboard finger puppets.

Recycled Cardboard Finger Puppets

easy finger puppets

Even for the drawing challenged (like me), these cardboard finger puppets are very simple to make. Once completed we put on a finger puppet show for her little sister and dad, and she is excited to bring them to preschool to show her friends, so they have provided hours of entertainment.

What You Need:

  • Cardboard. We used a nutbar box and an empty box of tissues. Breakfast cereal boxes would be perfect.
  • Pen.
  • Scissors.
  • Decorating items. Colored pens, glitter, stickers, pom poms etc.

Directions:

  • Cut box so you have a flat piece of cardboard. On the cardboard draw your desired puppet character. We did a butterfly, bear, monster, bird, and giraffe which were all simple to draw. Enchanted Learning has some printables if you need some more inspiration. Make sure your drawing has enough space at the bottom for the finger holes and keep your drawings simple.
  • Cut out drawing and cut some finger holes. If you have a large hole punch then use that to cut out the finger holes.
  • Color in or decorate the cardboard finger puppets. I tried to encourage coloring but Miss 4 was set on sticking so she used bits and pieces that we had in our craft box.
  • Pop your fingers through the holes and your fingers are now the characters legs. Now it is time for your puppet show!

Here are our finished cardboard finger puppets.

I hope you enjoy your finger puppet craft as much as we did. Please share a photo of your finger puppets with us if you do make them!

Homemade Lavender & Oat Bath Soak

My girls love picking the lavender in the garden from our house. So much so that we often have lavender in a vase in our living room. The other day while we were out picking lavender we decided for a change could make something with it. Something ultra relaxing, a Homemade Lavender & Oat Bath Soak!

After some research online I decided to adapt this recipe to suit our needs.

bath soak 4

This lavender & oat bath soak contains ingredients you possibly will have in your pantry already at home; lavender, oats, baking soda, and lavender essential oil. As well as the amazing scent lavender adds to the bath soak, lavender is also great for aching muscles, relaxation, stress relief. Oatmeal is ultra moisturizing and a very gentle cleanser suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Soaking in baking soda can help soften the skin and promote healing and baking soda has even been proven to help the irritation caused by yeast infections, hemorrhoids and other similar ailments.
