What You’ll Need

  • 30x40x22cm wooden box
  • 10m 6mm dia. natural sisal rope
  • Soft shoe brush
  • Acrylic paint of your choice
  • Little painting brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pillow (make your own, pillows are a super easy sewing project).

Instructions

Choose a suitable wooden box – for this project, the measurements used were 30x40x22cm. If you have a larger cat, you may need a bigger size!

Get 10 meters of 6mm dia. natural sisal rope, and start covering one of the sides of the box with it, using a hot glue gun. When completely covered, your cat will be able to use it as a scratching surface.

Keep going round and round until you reach the center, carefully covering the whole side. Have a look at the photo tutorial to see how this is done.

To the opposite side of the box, stick a soft bristle shoe brush, using the glue gun. Your cat will be able to massage its head with it.

Using a pencil, start sketching your cat’s name on the front panel of the box. This will give your project a personalized touch.

Use your hot glue gun to secure the end of the leftover rope, so it doesn’t unfold.

Glue down the piece of rope, following the sketch you made on the front panel.Paint over the rope with acrylic paint of your choice, making it pop more.

Paint over the rope with an acrylic paint of your choice, making it pop more.

Place a soft pillow inside, making it comfortable for your cat to sleep on. Use similar measurements as the box you used.

If you have followed the steps correctly, your multi-purpose cat bed should now be finished and ready for your cat to enjoy!
